Have you ever heard the term ”invisible work“? For me, there are few jobs that have as much invisible work as teachers. It’s the work that goes unnoticed or unrewarded.
It’s spending your precious summer cutting out decorations for your classroom walls so students feel safe and excited to be there. It’s paying for your own ream of paper so you can make printouts for your students that will ultimately help them learn more. It’s spending the extra time to give real feedback on papers that can help turn students into authors, mathematicians, and contributing members of their communities.
